Set your footage's source color space

If you shot in a flat or log profile like ARRI LogC3 or Sony S-Log3, your footage looks grey and washed out straight off the camera. Setting the source color space tells Solid how to decode that footage back to standard Rec.709 color before any look, filter, or adjustment is applied.

When to use it

Reach for this whenever a clip looks unusually flat, low-contrast, or desaturated. Footage recorded in a standard profile already looks correct, so leave the source color unset in that case — applying it to non-log footage will wash the colors out.

Set the source color

In the Look rail, open Source color and pick the profile your camera recorded in. Solid supports the common camera and log formats, including:

• ARRI LogC3, Sony S-Log3, and Panasonic V-Log
• Canon Log 2 / Log 3 and RED Log3G10
• Fujifilm F-Log / F-Log2, Nikon N-Log, and DJI D-Log
• Apple Log and Blackmagic Film Gen 5

How it fits with looks and filters

Source color is a normalization, not a creative effect, so it's always applied at full strength with no intensity slider. It runs first — decoding your footage to a neutral baseline — so any look, filter, or light adjustment you stack on top behaves predictably. To remove it, open Source color and clear the selection.
