Find the right voice for your script

Your script is written and now it needs someone to read it. Or you've finished cutting an A-roll video and want to add a couple of lines that were never recorded. Either way, this is where you find the perfect voice for it.

Generating the voiceover means no booking anyone and no hunting for a quiet room. You get thousands of voices across languages, accents, ages and styles, and you can listen to any of them before you commit. If you've cloned your own voice it's in here too, which makes adding a missing line to an existing voiceover straightforward instead of a reason to set up and record all over again.

Open the voice picker

With a line of your script selected, find the AI Voice section in the side panel. Click Find voice to choose one, or Replace if a voice is already set.

How the voices are organized

The Select voice window opens with your own voices on the left.

My library is everything already available to you:

Workspace holds the voices your team has added, including any you've cloned.
Recommended are picks based on your Brand Hub, plus voices doing well right now.
Solid exclusive are voices made for Solid users, so you won't find them anywhere else.
Favorites are the ones you've starred.

Explore voices is the full library: thousands of voices across languages, genders, ages and styles that you haven't saved into your own library yet. Star any of them and they'll be waiting in Favorites next time.

Clone voice in the bottom left starts a new clone instead. Clone your brand voices walks through that.

Search and filter

The search bar takes whatever comes to mind: a voice name, a language, or the job you need it for. Try podcast, ASMR or sports commentator, because voice names and descriptions usually say what they were built for.

Underneath it you get up to four filters, depending on which tab you're in.

Category narrows to recommended, Solid exclusive or workspace voices.
Language finds voices built for the language you're working in.
Gender is male, female or neutral.
Age is young, middle aged or old.

Plenty of voices can speak several languages, but each one was built for a specific language and always sounds best in it. So it's worth matching the language filter to your script rather than expecting a voice to stretch.

Compare voices at a glance

Every row gives you enough to narrow things down without opening anything:

The name of the voice with a short description underneath.
A play button to hear a preview before deciding.
The languages it was made for. Hover to see the full list when there's more than one.
A label showing whether it's public, workspace only, recommended or Solid exclusive.
A star to save it to your favorites for next time.
