Feedback on video is hard to give in writing. Describing a moment means writing out timestamps, and whoever reads them has to jump back and forth between your message and the video to find the part you mean. Comments in Solid are pinned to an exact moment and an exact spot on the frame, so nobody has to guess what you meant.

Open the Review View

Open your project and click Review in the top bar, on the right next to Video. If someone sent you a review request, the email takes you straight to the Review View.

  1. Find the moment you'd like to comment on. Play the video from the timeline at the bottom, pause, drag the playhead, or switch between the variants of a segment to reach a different hook.
  2. Hover over the video and click the spot you want to talk about.
  3. Type your comment, add an emoji if you like, and click the send icon.

Your comment is pinned to that moment and shows up in the timeline for everyone else on the project. Depending on which project view you're in, it appears as a blue dot or as a user icon. They're emailed about it too, so nothing gets lost in a busy day. If you'd rather not receive those emails yourself, set your email preferences.

Read and reply

Click a blue dot or a user icon in the timeline to open the comment. You'll see who left it, when they left it, and what they said.

From there you can:

  • Reply with text or an emoji, then click the send icon. Whoever left the comment will be notified.
  • Resolve it using the check icon in the top right. Once it's dealt with, the comment disappears from the timeline.
  • Delete it using the trash icon.

With the feedback in, next up is changing your project's status so everyone knows where it stands.
